EC Blackie
£1695
Fraser Guitar's tribute to Clapton's Blackie offers pure iconic Clapton style alongside our standard specifications. Eric Clapton first performed with Blackie on the 13th January 1973 at the Rainbow Concert, continuing to favour this instrument for years to come. Between 1974 and 1985, Clapton used Blackie almost exclusively on stage and in the studio, recording hits such as “Wonderful Tonight”, "I Shot the Sheriff" and “Lay Down Sally”.
Our Blackie takes you back in time, with a deep contoured body in alder, nitrocellulose lacquer finish, 1-ply aged White, 8-hole, pickguard and tremolo. With subtle indications of the ages, such as discoloration of plastic parts and metal hardware showing slight oxidation, this guitar maintains its sheen while the distinctive wear evokes its journey and weathering though time.
Features include our Vintage "C" 1-piece maple neck with 9.5" radius fretboard, rolled edges and black dots, rolled and polished Vintage Jumbo frets, bone nut and vintage-style machine heads. A trio of single-coil '60s pickups, hand-wound to vintage specifications, ensure this guitar retains the classic sound of the era. All our guitars now include a Fraser tweed hard case as standard.
